Dirty Disco: CX/Gravel Bike for Sale!

I have decided to sell my cyclocross bike.  It turns out that with what little time I have to ride, I am simply too in love with my “old faithful” road bike, to make it worth my while owning a CX bike.  It was fun to build, and it really is lovely, but it would get more use with someone else, and it’s a shame seeing it hang around, with no one riding it.

It is REALLY sexy.  Raw carbon finish, disc brakes, 8.8kg weight, and black & red accents coordinated across all the components.  Have a read of the specs below, and peek through the photo gallery.

It has been ridden TWICE!  Literally, two times, i.e. less than 4 hours.  It’s essentially brand new, and I am asking significantly less than it cost to put together, to sell it now.



Frame: On-One “Dirty Disco” – Carbon Monocoque, Size 52 (I am 168cm tall).  On-One is an independent frame-maker, who sell directly to consumers, based in Yorkshire, UK.  The frame gets rave reviews in the cyclocross press, and you can read some sample reviews here:

Geometry: (NB: My frame is a size 52)

Wheels: Kinesis Crosslight CX Disc – 160mm rotors, 1828g the pair, 135mm rear, 110mm front.  They are 700c, obviously, and accept up to 40mm tyres.  A few excerpts from reviews of these wheels follow below, too:

Tyres: Schwalbe CX Pro (knubbly) 30mm


  • Shimano Ultegra CX70 Chainset (2013 model – double, 10 speed, 110mm, 165mm cranks, 46t/36t)
  • Shimano Ultegra SL Front Derailleur (2013 model – FD6600, double, 10spd)
  • Shimano Ultegra GS Rear Derailleur (2013 model – RD6600 10spd, short cage)
  • Shimano 105 Cassette (11t-28t)
  • Shimano 105 Flightdeck shifters / levers
  • Cane-creek Crosstop bar-top brake levers (these are additional to the Shimano 105 ones on the drops, and can be removed if you wish)

Disc Brakes: Spyre TRP disc brakes (160mm rotors, black & red).  A few excerpts from a review, here:

TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes are the best non-hydraulic road bike and cyclo-cross stoppers we’ve used.


Quite possibly the best mechanical disc brake solution out there – more expensive than its predecessor but less expensive than a hydraulics.


Seat post: Planet X 31.6″ (black)

Stem: SelCof Aluminium +10/-10 deg (1 1/8″, black & red)

Handlebar: Planet X Strada Compact 42mm, T6061-T6 Heat treated aluminium

Saddle: ProLogo Kappa Evo (Black & Red, Cro-Mo rails)

Additional extras:

  • KCNC anodised red chainset bolts
  • K-Edge anodised red Garmin “our front” mount
  • K-Edge anodised red chain catcher
  • Hope anodised red bar plugs

Bar tape: two tone black and red

Pedals: Clipless – Cranks Brothers Egg Beaters 3 (Black & Red) – I can take these off if buyer does not want them.

Decals:  You’ll notice that in the reviews on other websites (see above), there is a large white “On-One” decal on either side of the down tube.  I preferred the subtle black carbon finish, so did not put these decals on – but I do still have them and they will be sold with the bike.


The total price of the frame and components on this bike, when built in 2013, was over £1700 GBP.  In the interest of a quick sale, and since it is no longer new (although it’s virtually never been used), I am asking €950 for it.
